The organisers of Trunchonbury 2017 – whose tagline is “a happy place for smiley people – have announced the full line-up of this year’s festival, which will be staged in Knapton from August 25 to 27.
Among the headliners are former chart stars Dodgy, The Correspondents, Dub Pistols, Sam and The Womp, Banco De Gaia and Jeramiah Ferrari.
They will be supported by: Shoam De, Rivers, Made from Colour, Doris Brendal, Falling From Trees, Grant Ley, Odder seas, Huw Eddy & The Carnival, Richard Sutton, Ultra Ego, Josh Kemp, Abigail Blake, The Skipyard Rockers, Just Ash, Anna Wilson, Annely Black, The Naked Lights, JB Band/Parallel Times, Cappellino, Broken Maps, Ugle Dog Skiffle band, Chalky Seas, Catch 22, Unit 10, Alex Rainsford, Outta The Blues, Drop The Clutch, Mammal not fish and The Storyville Mob.
Striking a balance between headline acts and up and coming local bands and DJs, the Main Stage, Dance Stage and Acoustic Stage cater to all tastes.
But there is more to the weekend than music.
As audiences have grown ten-fold, from 500 in 2007 to an anticipated 5000 this year, so too has the programme.
New to Trunchonbury this summer is the Performing Arts Tent which will feature live performances from poets and twisting tales from storytellers.
Among the local highlights are appearances from Kali yoga frpom Sheringham, Aylsham High School, The Mundesley Players and Broadland Theatre Group.
In addition, there will be a Children’s Field, Trunchonbury Arms Beer Tent, Stalls and Food Market, Fun Fair, Street Entertainers and Healing Fields.
The children’s attractions include a funfair, historical workshop, medieval village, jugglers, and soft play area.
Tickets, priced from £15 for under 16s, and camping passes are now on sale through the festival’s website – Media – with spring saver tickets available until the end of May.
Donations are also being encouraged this year to raise money for local causes – the Mundesley inshore lifeboat, MADRA (Mundesley and District Recreational Association). and Knapton Village Hall.
And it’s not too late for local businesses to get involved with Trunchonbury 2017, which this year has the theme of Over the Rainbow.
A spokesperson for the festival said: “We are seeking sponsors and advertisers to join the Trunchonbury Tribe.
“We have packages ranging from a small banner to the full sponsorship of one of our packed stages.
“Exposure to all our advertisers and sponsors will be at a premium all weekend with inclusion in the programme, banners, posters and give-aways.”
